BOYS TENNIS:

On Saturday, the Olemiss Tennis Team traveled to Adams Central to battle a well seasoned team. Paxton Sample gave the Indians a 1- lead, capturing the 3Singles position at almost the same time as the Jets grabbed the 2Doubles spot to tie the score. Isaac Torres gave the Indians the lead 2-1, with his win at 1Singles. Adams Central again tied the score with a win at 1Doubles, in a second set tie-break. With Conner Murphy splitting sets at 3Singles, the stage was set for a dramatic finish. Late in the third set, Murphy won, giving Mississinewa the team victory. The Indians, 3-0 on the season, travel to Western on Tuesday.

Mississinewa finished 2nd in the Elwood tournament this weekend.

Mississinewa lost in the championship to Danville

BOYS SOCCER:

In their home opener at Fisher Field, the Mississinewa Boys Soccer team defeated the visiting Tri-Central Trojans 3-2. Scoring game quickly in the first half, with all 5 goals of the game coming in the first 40 minutes. The Indians opened up scoring as Junior Robbie Smith found his first high school goal to give Ole Miss a 1-0 lead. Tri-Central scored two straight, the second on a penalty kick, to go up 2-1. In the final 15 minutes of the first half Mississinewa netted two more, one by Cory Quakenbush and one by Sam Tarpein, to finish the score at 3-2. Though attempts came close, neither team could find the goal in the second half. Assists were made by Colin Yoder (2 for the game) and Sean Williams. Overall, the Indians got off 30 shots and held Tri-Central to 5 shots.

Mississinewa boys soccer goes to the road with a trip to Huntington North on Tuesday.

The Eagles started slow in the first half with little possession. In the 2nd Half Oak Hill was able to get some crosses in the box and get some shots on goal. Corn Gibson had a phenomenal free kick about 23 yards out to tie the game. Argos responded a short time later with another goal. In the last 30 seconds of the game Oak Hill placed a ball in the box where Luke VanBibber was able to pass the ball to Isaiah Henry to tie the game at 2-2 with just 4 seconds left in the game.

Mississinewa, Eastbrook and Madison-Grant competed in the Cross Country Challenge at Yorktown.

Miss boys finished 7th out of 9 teams with a score of 159.
Brennan Butche finished first with a time of 16:14.8
Jacob Ehmer finished 20th with a time of 18:52.1

Girls finished 5th with a score of 114
Aurora Fisher finished 2nd with a time of 21:22.1
Carli Fones finished 12th with a time of 22:59.9

Eastbrook boys finished 2nd with a score of 67.
Conner White finished 2nd with a time of 16:30.9
Ben Neideck finished 7th with a time of 17:58.6

Girls finished 4th with a score of 114
Rachel Manning finished 20th with a time of 24:12.3
Kaylene Cox finished 21st with a time of 24:29.1

Madison-Grant boys finished 8th with a score of 195
Mason Miller finished 36th with a time of 20:00.5
Kaden Howell finished 39th with a time of 20:23.8
