BOYS TENNIS:

On Tuesday, the Olemiss Tennis Team traveled to Western, where they put their undefeated record on the line. Paxton Sample gave the Indians an early lead with his win at 3Singles. After Western captured the 1Singles position, the Indians captured two close matches at 1Doubles and then 3Singles. Olemiss extended play into a third set at 2Doubles before dropping a 6-4 decision. Mississinewa is now 4-0 on the season and will travel to Northwestern on Thursday.

Oak Hill won over Manchester 1-0. Carlee Biddle scored the winning goal in the last 9 minutes off a deflection from the keeper. Andrea Wilk got the shut out with 4 saves.

Oak Hill travelled to Lewis Cass. JV lost in 3 sets; 18-25, 25-18, 9-15.the Eagles were led by Katy Jo Camden’s 10 kills. Varsity won in 4 sets; 25-17, 12-25, 25-22, 25-13. The varsity Eagles were led by Khloe Price & Taylor Westgate with 9 kills each. Brittany McCorkle had 17 digs & Ella Ridgeway had 6 ace serves.

The Eagles play Mississinewa in a CIC matchup on Monday.

On Thursday, the Olemiss Tennis Team traveled to Northwestern, where they advanced their recorded to 5-0 on the season with a 5-0 victory. The singles players of Isaac Torres, Conner Murphy, and Paxton Sample had a clean sweep, each with 6-0, 6-0 wins. The doubles teams of Seth Graves/Chandler Morrison and Mason Christensen/Ethan Miller captured victories in straight sets. The Indians will host Marion next Tuesday.

The Mississinewa Boys Soccer Team traveled up to Fort Wayne to face the Fusion (Club). They walked away with a tough loss, a 6-1 decision. Colin Yoder found the lone Indian goal with just over 2 minutes left in the game. Fusion found shots early and often, as Indian Keeper Conner Layman had 25 saves.

According to Maxpreps.com at 10:00pm tonight, Conner Layman has jumped to First Place in the Nation on Number of Saves with 66 on the Season. The Indians travel to Delta on Saturday for their next match.
