Mississinewa Junior Varsity baseball team beat Southern Wells 15 to 5 in 5 innings. Cade Campbell was 4 for 4 and scored 4 runs. Andrew Cruz was 3 for 4 with a triple and double.

Nate Altson pitched 3 innings had 4 runs, 5 hits, 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. Brody Hardcastle went 3-5 with 4 RBI’s. Nate Alston went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s and 1 stolen base. Spencer Ballinger was 2-4 with 3 RBI’s.

TENNIS:
On Monday, the Olemiss Tennis Team hosted the Owls of Muncie Burris. It was a great math that saw 4 of the five varsity courts playing three-set matches. With the Indians capturing the #1 singles position in straight sets. all other positions split the first two sets. After Katie Powell and Tyra Stanley won their 3rd set at #1 doubles, Maggie Herring won a traditional third set tie break to give the Indians the team victory. Mississinewa is now 7-2 and will host Madison Grant on Thursday. Their match vs Western, scheduled for Tuesday this week, was postponed until May 12th.

Mississinewa Track –vs- Blackford and Frankton (4/18/17)
The Mississinewa girls track team split a meet losing to Frankton and defeating Blackford. Mississinewa 56, Elwood 74, M-G 16. The girls track team was led by double event winners Amanda Baldwin in the 1600m (6:15) and 800m (2:48) and Carli Fones in the 100m (12.7) and 200m (27.2). Mississinewa also had winners in Aurora Fisher in the 3200m (13:22) and Katy Huber in the 100HH (19.5). They 4×800 relay (11:51) consisting of Baldwin, Fisher, Morgan Humphrey, and Jenna Dawson was also victorious.

The Mississinewa boys track team was victorious over Blackford and Frankton. The boys team scored 73 points while defeating Frankton (51 pts) and Blackford (22 pts). The Mississinewa team won 10 events including all 3 relays. Multiple event winners were Kody Cowgill, Brennan Butche, and Heisman Skeens. Cowgill won the 100m (11.2) and 400m (54.6) and was part of the winning 4×100 relay (7.8) along with Heisman Skeens, Gage Peterson, and Ethan Stephenson. Skeens won both Long Jump (18’ 2”) and the 200m 23.7 and was part of the winning 4×400 relay team with Jacob Ehmer, Jeshon McClung, and Cory Quakenbush. Butche won the 1600m (4:42) and 3200m (10:13). The 4×800 relay team consisting of Jacob Ehmer, Cory Quakenbush, Sam Robinson, and Collin Coffey was also victorious (9:24).

Mississinewa Track @ Twin Lakes Relays (4/21/17)
The track team traveled to Monticello, Indiana to compete in relays held at Twin Lakes High School. The boys’ team finished in 5th place while the girls placed 7th. The boys had 3 – 1st place finishes. Brennan Butche won the open 3200m race in 9:40. The jumping duo of Jeshon McClung and Heisman Skeens won the long jump. Butche teamed up with Jacob Ehmer, Kody Cowgill, and Cory Quakenbush to win the Distance Medley Relay. The 4×400 relay consisting of Cowgill, McClung, Quakenbush, and Skeens placed 2nd.
The girls’ team was lead by the jumping duo of Morgan Humphrey and Kayla Webb who placed 3rd in the high jump. The Distance Medley Relay of Amanda Baldwin, Jenna Dawson, Carli Fones, and Aurora Fisher placed 4th.
