TENNIS:

The Olemiss Tennis team traveled to Anderson, where they were finally able to play outside on Thursday. The weather this spring has forced the team indoors for the past two weeks. The team captured all matches.

#1 Singles: Pia Briz won 6-1, 6-2
#2 Singles: Tyra Stanley won 6-0, 6-0
#3 Singles: Abigail Tignor won 6-0, 6-1
#1 Doubles: Gabby Stephenson/Maggie Herring won 6-0, 6-0
#2 Doubles: Heavyn Miller/Andrea Stark won 6-2, 6-2

Also winners on the day were Rileigh Zirkle, Amiah Lewis, Makayla Gray, and Alexis Tignor

Olemiss will travel to Bluffton on Tuesday.

BASEBALL:

The Mississinewa baseball team defeated Jay County 7-6 on SAturday to move their record to 2-0 on the season.

Offensively the Indians were led by Nolan Young, Lucas Richards and Cade McCoin all getting a hit. McCoin got the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 8th inning to score Nolan Young.

On the mound, McCoin picked up the win in relief of Nolan Young. McCoin pitched 3 2/3 innings striking out 8 while walking 2 and giving up 1 hit. Young started and threw 4 1/3 innings striking out 7 while walking one and giving up 3 hits.

The Indians play again on Tuesday, April 11 vs. Norwell at 5:00.
