Oak Hill used a dominating second half to cruise to easy 54-34 victory over Taylor in girls basketball action at Taylor Tuesday night.
In the opening quarter the visiting Golden Eagles used their aggressive full court defense to streak out In front Taylor 15-7. In the second quarter the home standing Titans found their offense in pouring in 18 points. They did not make dent in the Oak Hill lead as the visitors took advantage of Taylor fouls to extend their gap to 35-25 heading to the locker room.
In the final half the game was all Oak Hill as they continued to use their stifling defense to overwhelm Taylor. The third quarter was rugged, but turnovers by the Titans allowed the Eagle advantage to 44-30. The Titans would continue to struggle with fatigue and cold three point shooting in the fourth quarter. On the night Taylor would only make two of 30 treys contributing to only four points in the final period. The Golden Eagles used multiple trips to the free throw line to secure the 54-34 win. Oak Hill was paced in scoring by sophomores Adrianna Trexler and Kaela Robey who tossed in 12 and 11 points each. The Eagles also had a large rebounding edge 37-12 led by freshman Taylor Westgate’s 13. Junior Kristin Dubois also contributed five steals and four assists.
