The McCulloch Bears suffered their first defeat of the year to Muncie Southside 51-50 in the first game of the Southside tournament on Saturday. The Bears led 15-10 after the first quarter but went into the half with a 3 point deficit 26-23 the Bears still trailed after 3, 42-32. The Bears had an opportunity to win but their final shot bounced off the rim left. Leading the Bears in scoring JK Thomas with 20 followed by DeAngelo Jones with 9,Trey Miles and Capone Johnson each had 7. Anthony Horton, Louis Guerrero and Billy Rodgers finished with 2 and Jayvion Rodgers 1.
McCulloch came back in the afternoon in the 3rd place game with a win over Muncie Northside 45-39 The Bears led 10-3 after 1 and 30-11 at the half 39-18 after 3. Scoring for the Bears was DeAngelo Jones with 15, JK Thomas had 12, 9 for Anthony Horton. Three each for Trey Miles and Capone Johnson. Rounding out the scoring with 2 points was Louis Guerrero and 1 for Cobey Fields. McCulloch is 6-1
