The Mississinewa boys soccer team’s home opener went the Indians way Saturday morning, 4-2, when the Indians built a 4-0 lead then gave up two late goals to Tri-Central.

The Indians’ senior midfielder Matthew Llorens opened the scoring in the 25th minute, senior Jimmy O’Connell added a second just over five minutes later and Mississinewa led 2-0 at the half.

In the second half, sophomore Sean Williams scored twice for the Indians, in the 10th minute and in the 27th minute. Tri-Central tried to work its way back into the match, scoring twice late–in the 33rd and 38th minutes–but the Indians cruised to the win.

The win makes Mississinewa’s record 1-0-1; they travel to Huntington North on Tuesday, August 25.
